Delhi Wedding Photography | Yash + Pallavi’s Band Baaja Baarat wedding :-)

A Delhi Wedding Photography Story

Pallavi & Yash first met in college and discovered that they had more in common than they thought! A few years of spending time together – on and off campus – slowly but surely led them closer towards a lifetime of togetherness.

Their wedding was a beautiful winter affair, full of rich traditions and lighthearted fun with family and friends. The festivities began with the Mehendi ceremony at Pallavi’s home.

Chandigarh Wedding Photography Story | Sonam + Vineet

A Chandigarh Wedding Photography Story

Arjun_Kartha_Photography_Wedding_Story_SV-52

Sonam & Vineet are one of the rare cases of arranged-turned-love marriages. I’m sure that eventually most of the arranged marriages end up with a happy story, but these two seemed so deeply in love in a short span of time, I was positive that this was a rare and special case.

The wedding was held in Chandigarh, at the JW Marriott, so that the extended family from different parts of Punjab could make it to the event easily. Spread over 3 days, the wedding was a fantastic combination of family time, traditions, fun and laughter.

We managed to get some alone time with the couple to get a few couple portraits…

Jaipur Destination Wedding Photography| Priya + Mayank

A Jaipur Wedding Photography StoryArjun_Kartha_Photography_PM-47

A classic story of best-friends falling in love, Priya and Mayank didn’t discover their true feelings for a very long time. But when they did, there was no looking back. Mayank sealed the deal by gifting her the greatest love of her life, Priya’s beloved Golden Retriever puppy – Oscar!

They decided to have a destination wedding in Jaipur, surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a two-day party that left everyone unbelievably hungover yet had them craving for more. It was an extremely fun wedding to shoot, with lots of fun, laughter and happiness.

New York Wedding Photography Story – Adrienne + Vinay’s Boda Shaadi!

An Indian Wedding Photography Story in New York

Arjun_Kartha_Photography_Boda-9

Adrienne and Vinay first bonded over food. Yes, food. Apparently the stomach is the quickest route to the heart! They are both fantastic cooks and are always obsessing over new finds – restaurants, bars, cafes and ingredients, the farmers market and so much more.

When they were married, they wanted to integrate parts of both their traditions – Indian and Puerto Rican – into their wedding. Calling the event Boda Shaadi was the first step. Some of you might know that saying Boda Shaadi is like saying Chai Tea. Both words mean the same thing, but it made for an interesting first step – allowing their wedding festivities to be unique and special.

The couple picked a venue called the Green Building in Brooklyn, on the Gowanus Canal. True to their off-beat taste, the building was an old brass foundry, converted into a wedding and party venue. It was only poetic that their wedding take place in Brooklyn, where they first met, explored together and fell in love. From the wedding cupcakes to the Indian meal and freshly brewed craft beer, from the baraat to the secular civil ceremony, the wedding was a perfect blend of both traditions. Here are a few highlights of the wedding.

Bangalore Wedding Photography Story: Savio + Rinchen

 A Bangalore Wedding Photography Story

Arjun_Kartha_Photography_SR-10

Have you ever come across a gorgeous cabin attendant on a very boring flight and wondered what would happen if you asked her out? Have you always thought that it’s an impossible notion and feared being arrested on landing for harassing the crew? Or have you tried it, been rejected and sworn never to make the mistake again?

Well I’m about to tell you that not only is it possible to get a date with that gorgeous attendant, but also end up with Rinchen & Savio’s happily ever after. Yes, I kid you not. Savio met Rinchen on a flight. After a slight disagreement about the in-flight-service, he ended up asking her out. One thing led to another until, finally, they wed in Bangalore earlier this year. Here are a few highlights from their fairytale wedding…

For when you don't want to intrude on a moment. But yet freeze it in time.

Anubha + Saahil Wedding, Sonepat, India

Arjun_Kartha_Photography_AS-12

Anubha & Saahil wed last year, in Saahil’s hometown Sonepat. They first met 4 years earlier, at work. Whoever said that office romances don’t have happy endings clearly didn’t know what they were talking about.

When they finally decided to wed after an exciting courtship, painting all of Delhi red, it didn’t come as a surprise to their friends and family. In fact, they couldn’t understand what took them so long!

When they decided to hire us, we were very excited for the shoot. While Saahil loves to play around and make everybody laugh, Anubha is the perfect sport and goes along with all his ideas. Their pre-wedding shoot has definitely been one of the most fun ones we have done. It spanned the length and breadth of India Gate, Habitat Centre, the Saket Malls and a lot of it was centred around food since they are both foodies. It was a deliciously decadent day.

Saahil’s car played a very important role in their courtship…

Kerala Wedding Photography Story — Sonam + Vivek Wedding in Kochi

Kerala Wedding Photography Story – Sonam and Vivek’s Christian Wedding in KochiArjun_Kartha_Photography_SV-17

Sonam and Vivek tied the knot in a lovely, and very traditional, Syrian Christian ceremony in Kochi. The much feared July monsoon held out for their perfect day. To add to the beautiful Church and ceremony, the couple took a keen interest in the smallest of details – from the matching groom & bride cars, to the fantastic violinist Balabhaskar, the photo booth to the flash mob – to ensure that their guests have a wonderful time and take home many fun memories.

The couple first met 6 years ago, when Vivek moved in as the “boy next door” in Bombay. While Sonam’s mother began to lose sleep over how the new boy would influence her daughters, little did she know that in a few years she would welcome Vivek into the family!

The Syrian Christian ceremony, which took place at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, was very different from anything we’ve seen before. It was conducted primarily in Malayalam with chants and prayers in Aramaic by a panel, yes a panel, of priests and presided over by a Bishop, who is also the head of the Syrian Orthodox Christian community in Kerala. The ceremony was particularly interesting as it shows how the faith has evolved in India, and incorporates many rituals and elements that may be considered of Hindu origin, like the lighting of brass lamps in the church, the tying of the taali and the gifting of a saree to the bride. Melting pot of a wedding that is Christian in faith, Hindu in tradition and Aramaic in liturgy. Here are some highlights from their beautiful wedding.

Having some fun with the couple while they were waiting to get married…
