Haridwar Wedding Photography Story | Namrata + Kunal

When we first got the inquiry for Namrata & Kunal’s wedding in Haridwar, we were a little apprehensive. Well maybe apprehensive is a strong word. More like, we didn’t know what was in store at the wedding. It’s such a famous pilgrimage spot that it’s hard for us to picture it as anything but a deeply spiritual destination swarming with eager pilgrims. A “normal” family affair didn’t fit in with the extraordinary image of Haridwar, in our minds!

But what we found there was a perfectly “normal”, warm and welcoming family and a wonderful couple with the readiest smiles we have ever seen! It was so effortless and a pleasure to shoot with them because each expression was a new version of a smile or laughter! You think we’re exaggerating? Then see for yourself!

Looking at them, can you tell that the cold that night was bone-chilling? Everyone had a hard time keeping warm, despite the endless cups of tea/ coffee and the fantastic arrangement of quilts near the mandap. They look so incredibly happy, with each other and life, that it is truly touching.

The morning after the wedding (very early I might add), we went for a stroll with the couple to Bada Bazaar, Har Ki Pauri by the river bank to get a few portraits.

The pure joy on their faces was well worth the late-night+early morning=not enough sleep!
