Nandni Vahin Wedding Story by Twogether Studios-27

A Delhi Wedding Story | Nandni+Vahin

A Delhi wedding story of love and laughter and happily ever after

Sometimes when two people are meant to be, life keeps bringing them together through circumstances until they realise that they’re perfect for each other. Nandni and Vahin’s happy realisation led to a two-day wedding at The Imperial in Delhi early this year.

The couple met in college and had a few mutual friends but they never got to know each other. They met again a few years later and stayed friends for a while before they realised how right they are for each other. After a few years of long-distance courtship, they finally married each other surrounded by family and friends.  Here are some of our favourite moments from the wedding.

Part 1: The Proposal

A few weeks before the wedding, Vahin took Nandni to Jaipur for a surprise proposal. We were so glad to have captured the moment for them. He took her for a special dinner at the Fairmont Hotel. got down on one knee, and asked Nandni to marry him. She said yes, of course

Part 2: Mehendi and Sangeet

Their mehendi event the next day that was full of joy and love between the two families. The artist for the event made sure that the whole family came together and danced on Punjabi ‘boliyan‘. Even the grandparents!

The sangeet evening could only be described as vibrant, energetic, and packed with dance performances The couple’s friends hosted the event, where their closest friends and family danced for them. Not to mention the amazing Navraj Hans who had everybody dancing to his tunes.

Part 4: The Wedding

Vahin’s friends had come from all around the world to be a part of his wedding celebrations. Which is why they spared no effort in making sure that he was covered in haldi. And beer. And chutney!

While Vahin’s haldi ceremony was chaotic, Nandni’s haldi and chooda ceremony on the other hand was gentle and loving.

Vahin’s friends surrounded his vintage ride, hid the car keys and had the dance party of their lives on some good old Bollywood songs in his baraat.

Nandni looked stunning in a gold Rimple and Harpreet lehenga.

She walked down the aisle hand in hand with her parents and the jaimala happened at that perfect time when the sky and the light are just perfect.

Mother’s Day Contest Winner Photoshoot

This Mother’s Day we had announced a photoshoot giveaway, in association with Designer Events and a bunch of talented artists, for one special mother-daughter duo. All they had to do was follow a few simple steps. We asked the participants to post a picture of a special moment with their mothers with a caption. And we’re happy to announce that Aanya won that special photoshoot for her and her Mom. Her caption “Still not prettier than her’, really won our hearts!

We had the pleasure of having both of them in our studio for the said photo shoot a few days ago. And it’s safe to say that we’re super happy with the results as well!

Both of them looked gorgeous in the outfits styled by Devnaagri. The jewellery by Raabta by Rahul completely complimented the clothes. And of course, Jasmeet Kapany‘s brilliant skills completed their look for the shoot. The Designer Events Inc had organised a beautiful set-up in our garden that we couldn’t wait to shoot in.

Our plan was to capture some light-hearted, fun moments between Anya and her Mom. Though shy in front of the camera at first, Aanya’s Mom was a pro at it pretty soon. We got some pretty enchanting pictures of the duo in the garden set-up. The light was perfect and the vibrant clothes only added to the charm of it all.

After the outdoor shoot, we moved into our studio for the second part of the shoot. The intention here was to give them timeless portraits that they could frame and keep forever. And the Godox lights definitely helped us achieve it. We got some marvellous portraits of the mother-daughter.

The shoot was styled by these amazing artists:

A Ranchi Destination Wedding Story | Rahul+Sanya

Rahul and Sanya get married in a beautiful Ranchi destination wedding

We’re pretty sure that there’s a saying that goes “When you meet the right person, nothing else matters”. You don’t think of checklists, cities, distance or any other thing when you know it’s right. And for Rahul and Sanya, it was so right!

Rahul never believed in checklists, but he did believe in destiny and fate. And meeting Sanya was his fate, he believes. From the very first meet, he was bowled over! For Sanya, having a partner who loved and cared for her was very special. She loved that he made her his priority since day one.

While Rahul’s friends teased him for his late night conversations with her, Sanya’s friends were joyous that she found her perfect partner. And we’re not one to exaggerate, but we could see the love and adoration they had for each other. Her vivaciousness and his reserved but extremely warm nature made for a phenomenal combination.

Their families were ecstatic that they chose one another. What followed was a beautiful celebration of their union with their closest family and friends. They had a fun mehendi event with lots of games and a super-entertaining tug-of-war. On their sangeet night, singer Anushka Manchanda had everybody dancing to her spirited tunes! It was a beautiful three-day celebration of their love and we loved shooting every bit of it! Rahul was a dashing groom while Sanya made for the most gorgeous bride!

Watch Rahul and Sanya vow to love each other for the rest of their lives.

A Kochi Destination Wedding Story | Vidya+Ankur

A Kochi destination wedding story of a charming couple

As wedding photographers, we are the biggest fans of love stories. And it’s especially heart-warming when we get to witness ones that have stood the test of time to make it to the big day.

Vidya and Ankur were medical students when they met in college eight years ago. They met through a common friend as strangers and became friends soon. There was something Vidya liked about Ankur since the beginning that she couldn’t quite put a pin on. And Ankur felt the same. It was one of those friendships where both the people feel like there is something more between them. And there definitely was! Ankur was the ice to her fire! And soon enough, they had decided that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

When we first met our stunning bride, she told us that she knew she definitely wanted two things for her wedding day. An elegant Sabyasachi lehenga and having us shoot her wedding! It was an absolute joy that we could fulfill one of those two wishes and capture her love story with her beloved Ankur. We shot their pre-wedding in the incredible backwaters of Kochi and got some magical moments between them.

Here are a few of our favourite moments from their wedding.

Indian wedding photography Sabyasachi bride portrait

Vidya and Ankur’s eight-year-long love story culminated in a beautiful Kochi destination wedding. Their wedding ceremony was held at the gorgeous Ramada Resort. They had two wedding ceremonies – a North-Indian style Hindu pheras and a lovely Kerala Hindu wedding. And we couldn’t be happier that we could capture Vidya in all her Sabyasachi glory!

A Destination Wedding in Goa | Ramola + Santosh

A beautiful, intimate wedding by the beach in Goa

Ramola and Santosh had a beautiful, fun, warm and intimate wedding in Goa a few months ago. They are such a lovely couple that we were very excited about being a part of their big day. Ramola knew Arjun in a professional capacity 10 years ago. When we broke away from our 9-5’s and decided to take wedding photos for a living, she told him that she has no idea when she will get married but she had already decided that we would shoot her wedding, wherever it may be. It was so humbling to hear a statement like that and we are so glad that a couple with such beautiful hearts wanted us to capture the most important day of their lives.

Ramola first met Santosh at work, when she moved to Dubai for a job opportunity. Santosh was quite a taskmaster, a workaholic who expected the very best from everyone around him. But somewhere along the way, they became friends and then more.

As she tells it, the first birthday Ramola spent in Dubai was one of the early special memories she has of Santosh and it may well be the turning point! Away from home, her family and friends, Ramola spent an unhappy birthday at work, dreading going home to an empty apartment. But when she came home to find a surprise birthday cake from Santosh, it turned her day around! I guess there was no going back from there.

Both Ramola and Santosh are very close to their families. They wanted to have a wedding where everyone close to them could attend and be a part of their celebration. So Goa was a natural choice, where their respective families from Pune and Bombay could come in and stay with them for the course of a 3-day fun-packed wedding. They decided to host their families and have their wedding at the beautiful Zuri White Sands Resort – booking out most of the hotel so they could enjoy themselves to the utmost degree.

They planned it all, from a grand welcome for the families to a Moroccan themed night with dancers and Hookahs for their Engagement evening; from a combined bride+groom Haldi with pichkaaris and water buckets to a poolside mehendi (which turned into a pool party with everyone jumping into the pool in all their wedding finery); from a Bollywood themed Sangeet Cocktail to a Beach-side wedding, Ramola and Santosh planned it all. They thought of the fun, the time to be spent with their families and the memories that everyone would take away from the wedding. It was all just perfect.

We hope that they will have a wonderful life together and are so very glad that we were able to capture their wedding. Here are a few of our favourites…

A Destination Wedding in Kovalam, Kerala | Paro + Dhruv

A beautiful beach-side wedding at The Leela, Kovalam

Paro & Dhruv had a beautiful, intimate wedding in Kovalam last year. They both live in Singapore but, because their respective families live in India, they decided to have the ceremony and other celebrations here. Many of their friends & colleagues from Singapore flew down to attend the wedding, which was full of personal little details thought out by the bride and groom themselves.

The couple had one clear objective — have the time of their lives, surrounded by their closest friends and family. As destination wedding photographers, we thought that the destination they chose provided a gorgeous background to do it!

Here are some of our favourites from their wedding…

They thought of everything – along with little personalised bottles of Toddy, they remembered to give out packs of Party Smart to counter the effects of the night! It was an incredibly fun wedding and we’re so glad to have been a part of it.

We hope you like their photos as much as we do. Leave us your comments below to tell us what you think!

A Destination Couple Shoot in Jaipur | Vedika & Raghav

Vedika and Raghav’s couple shoot was one of the more fun ones for us. Together with the couple, we planned their shoot weeks in advance. We did a save-the-date session with them in Delhi and a full fledged pre-wedding couple shoot in Jaipur, at The Fairmont hotel.

It was a lovely getaway and Vedika planned the outfits down to a T. We did quite a few sessions, with outfit changes in between, exploring different parts of the hotel with every series. Needless to say, the property provided an excellent backdrop for the shoot and all our planning paid off. We tried to make the very best of the light and it came together beautifully.  Continue Reading

A Destination Wedding in Udaipur | Avantika & Samir

An Intimate, Fun-Filled Destination Wedding in Udaipur

Avantika & Samir chose to be married in Udaipur, away from the hustle-bustle of Delhi. The intimate wedding was attended by their closest friends and family and was tailored to suit their taste and personality.

They also chose to do away with the usual palace wedding and picked an off-beat resort, nestled amidst the majestic hills of Rajasthan, close to a forest reserve. Two days full of good food, good wine and excellent company made for a fabulous wedding. They had a Marwari style wedding, full of lots of little rituals, family banter and laughter. From camel, elephant and chariot entrances to a Jaimala over the pool, they thought of it all.

But, being in Udaipur, we couldn’t resist the charm of stepping into the City Palace for a quick round of couple portraits!

Here are a few of our favourites from their lovely wedding…

Avantika & Samir had a beautiful destination wedding and we enjoyed every minute of it. We wish them all the happiness together.

Le Meridien Gurgaon | Wedding Destination in NCR

A few weeks ago, we held our 3rd Annual AKP Wedding Photography Bootcamp at Le Meridien Gurgaon. If you happened to have missed out, read the story and see the photos here. It was a 2 day intensive and hands-on workshop with 25 participants and we had a blast conducting it.

Not only did we talk about how to shoot brilliant wedding photos, we showed our lovely participants how to do it using live shoot modules and re-created a whole wedding using models, actual wedding outfits, professional makeup, a mandap set and a real panditji! All in the hotel premises.

Le Meridien did a stellar job of hosting us and being our hospitality partner, no holds barred. Their banquet and operations team were incredible and we wouldn’t have managed such a successful event without them. The food and service was brilliant, with much attention paid to our every whim, fancy and last minute requests!

The Le Meridien Gurgaon is conveniently situated very close to the Guru Dronacharya Metro Station, just after the Delhi-Gurgaon border. It’s just a few minutes away from Cyber City as well. The rooms offer a lovely view of the Aravalli hills or the city skyline – both an amazing sight.

The rooms are comfortable and chic, with a gorgeous Presidential Suite – perfect for the bride/couple to occupy during a wedding.

An all-day dining restaurant serving world cuisine, a specialty coffee bar which turns into a full fledged wine and cocktails bar in the evening and a pool-side nightclub cater to a wide variety of moods and occasions.

During our bootcamp, we began our wedding day re-enactment with the boudoir shoot of the bride and groom, getting ready in the luxurious and beautiful Presidential Suite of the hotel. It had enough room to comfortably fit twenty five of our participants, ten of the team members, the bride and groom as well as the whole makeup team. There was still room left over for the actual boudoir shoot as if there was no-one else in the room!

In addition to the space and grandeur, the Presidential Suite had lovely large windows with a lot of natural light and made a great location for the boudoir and portrait shoot. The sun-filled corridors outside the room also gave us a lovely backdrop.

Just like in a real wedding, we always manage to sneak in some time for couple portraits and some couple shots, minutes before the wedding ceremony, we took our participants to the lovely landscaped entry of the hotel – lush green and beautiful fountains which added so much character to the building facade backdrop.

Apart from the lawns, Le Meridien also has a spectacular poolside, ideal for couple shoots and pre-wedding shoots but sadly we ran out of time to shoot there (as is always the case group activities)!

We ended our wedding day with the actual wedding ceremony which was held on the spacious and elegant terrace of the hotel, which overlooks the Aravallis. We did up the terrace with our beloved mirchi lights and a beautifully decorated mandap in the centre! The terrace was well equipped with lights and space, which catered to the needs of our bootcamp perfectly – giving everyone ample space to shoot and move around!

All in all, Le Meridien Gurgaon is a great venue to host your wedding (or other occasions) – it would work wonderfully even if you moved your entire family in there and treated it like a destination wedding! The venues are pretty, food is great, hospitality team is warm and helpful and the location oh-so-convenient. If you haven’t paid it a visit, their Sunday Brunch is a great starting point!

Le Meridien Gurgaon was our hospitality partner for the AKP Wedding Photography Bootcamp 2016, but the photographs and opinions in this article are our own.
